The Fifth Parade of Bulgaria will once again gather the Bulgarian community in Chicago on the occasion of May 24th — a celebration of the Bulgarian alphabet, culture, and spirit. The event will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the traditional location in Elk Grove Village, bringing together Bulgarian schools, folklore ensembles, and cultural organizations for one more unforgettable day of unity, pride, and togetherness.

The celebration will begin at 12 o’clock with a festive parade of Bulgarian children and community participants, continuing into Rotary Green Park, where guests will enjoy a rich and entertaining stage program presented by Bulgarian schools, folk ensembles, and cultural organizations. A special guest singer from Bulgaria will also join the event and add even more excitement to the day.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone. Families and visitors will be able to enjoy music, dances, a children’s area, games, and activities for all ages in a lively Bulgarian atmosphere. A Bulgarian crafts bazaar will also be part of the celebration, giving guests the opportunity to discover handmade items and traditional products.

The food for the event will be provided by Malincho, offering delicious options for guests throughout the day. The Fifth Parade of Bulgaria is organized by Elk Grove Village and the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Chicago, with the support of Bulgarian Arts and Cultural Exchange. It is expected once again to become a vibrant and heartfelt gathering for Bulgarians and friends of Bulgaria from across the Chicago area.
